MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. I can relate and write pages about issues in school today. I really do enjoy teaching but as stated in the article, dealing with disruptive students creates a lot of stress not only on the teacher but the students who are there to learn. I'm not at the point of burn out and I could retire any day I want to but I have no plans to in the very near future. Many of my colleagues ask me why I stay. I tell them, 'Because I want to and I think I can make a difference". If I can give just one student that chance to pull themself out of the situation they are in, that's an accomplishment in my book. I've had several. I know because they mail me their college graduation invitations. Many come back to see me later to "brag" about what they are doing now. I know I can't reach every student, but I dang well try. OK, end of my rant!

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - Today you would get sued for doing that. It might embarrass them!

AN Ron Wright We have new laws not which prevent cell phone use from bell to bell during instructional time. Between classes and lunch they can have them. During class if they get caught they get wrote up and can get in school suspension for the first times. At some point it becomes out of school suspension and a parent conference.

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - Every classroom has a phone so if there is an emergency, they can use the land line!

The two years I spent teaching journalism at DINFOS and the three I spent teaching history at West Point were, next to company command, the best years of my army career! . . .
