Wouldn't be the first time. The Hagia Sofia was probably the greatest structure between Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox, and what happened once the Turks took Constantinople? A mosque it became.

How so? It is just a building. A building that wasn't even in use and had fallen into disrepair. It is not like the congregation was kicked out - it was vacant and just sitting there.
