Honestly, I see great merit in this. Granted, the SMs can always go off base for a burger from BK, but all I see that is a waste of gas and time just to get a Junior Whopper. The one real drawback is that the AAFES coffers would probably take a hard hit.

Should they get rid of all fast food? No. But they could cut out a LOT of them. Like get rid of the stand alone places. Or just have one or two. And AAFES can serve what they do.
I've noticed some Army DFACs are getting better at offering healthy options that look like they taste good. Like those prepped to go meals. I think at JBLM they were doing it and I never tried it but they looked decent and worth it to go get them. That's what they need to do is have better options at DFACs to get meal card holders to use them and get people to go in with BAS and spend money. I mean I rarely at the DFAC when I was in the barracks (when I wasn't deployed).
