"As the services grapple with increasing numbers of overweight troops in the ranks, booting fast food restaurants from bases could help cut obesity rates in the armed forces, according to the U.S. military’s top enlisted official.
The comments made by Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Troy E Black, the senior enlisted advisor to Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. CQ Brown came in an interview late last month on the MOPs and MOEs Podcast."

yea but Ft. Bliss has created an entire area where Non Military food and entertainment is available. It's basically an outdoor mall. I'm quite sure shutting it down would be a blow to morale.

Yea like that is going to work. Might as well ban the consumption of beer, wine or hard liquor.

They could easily remove fast food joints. That doesn't mean servicemembers will stop going to them off base - but it makes it a lot less efficient to do it. I mean - the bigger bases traffic is a nightmare at lunch if you go off base so it would probably dissuade them.
I think we do have too many fast food places on base though. Also they have restricted alcohol sales at AAFES on bases before.
