Seems some posts go down a hole. Reposting. Harris is purposing price controls. I drilled water wells in Montana when Nixon put price controls on rolled steel. We could not find 6” pipe for well casing and when we did it was extremely costly. Price controls create scarcity. Econ one o one. Even Krugman admits it. You will be able to afford food but there will be none to buy. You see this in rent control.

Not exactly "price control" but a ban on corporate price "gouging," which is a major contributor to inflation. Free enterprise is one thing, corporate greed is another.
"A highly-anticipated economic agenda to be unveiled by Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday will include a federal ban on price gouging for food and groceries, the Harris campaign announced."
"A ban on price gouging would in theory disallow food and grocery companies from hiking prices an excessive amount over a set period of time, economists told ABC News. They disagreed, however, on whether the measure could control the rise of food prices or if such an outcome is desirable."
