When I was stationed at Grand Forks AFB I learned a lot about Minnesota politics and got to meet Paul Wellstone who was a extremely popular up and comer. Sadly Minnesota lost him much to early, but everything about Walz reminds me of what impressed me so much about Wellstone.

A post from National Panhandler Radio shouldn’t be taken seriously. A unit does not get a deployment order on short notice, the “patch chart” of mobilization/deployment is drafted well in advance and he knew it. The fact that the “official” order came down two months after he deserted his unit is just a deflection.

SrA John Monette NG units are notified at least 6 months if not a year...his "high" rank would have known well in advance...every once in a while it is short notice dependent on unit mission...just can't trust him...too many holes.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth understood. I was never deployed, so I’m unaware of timelines.

SrA John Monette yep...they get warnos early...their orders are done that way so they can work out issues with jobs, settle family issues etc versus active duty that can deploy at the drop of a hat.
