I guess paying hush money is OK as long as it is government money? For Trump, it wasn't the matter of paying hush money. His conviction was all about falsifying business records to cover it up as a legitimate business expense (which was fraud on multiple levels).

LTC David Brown - That's an immaterial issue. This wasn't a double trial; there was no requirement to prove that underlying crime. The prosecutors proved what they were required to prove (falsification of business records).
