Navy deployments: How long is too long?

I Can't Bitch Too Much, a Little over 3 Months for Desert Storm and 6 Months for Desert Strike for Me.

I recall doing two six months deployments when I was active duty Navy aboard the USS Boone (FFG-28). One was 93-94, second one was 95-96.
