In my experience, informing someone of the risks may not be enough if they do not have the background that translates the information into understanding and comprehension.

More importantly, he was not correctly informed about COVID'S RISK to a person of his age and health.

The thing is this piece sounds like a weasel-mouthed CYA piece of journalism. I say that because May 2021 was at the height of the 'misinformative information'. It was a world-wide surge of lies, deception and misdirection orchestrated by governments based mostly by statements and 'research' given by American's National Institute of Allergy headed by Doctor Fauci.
Using his "I was never involved in Wuhan" narrative but trusting him based on his misused but influential position, the majority of the world 'mandated' , without review, the passage of draconian measures of mostly ineffective directives. These actions disregarded and suppressed other information by multiple other medical MDs and Facilities with the consent, cooperation and enforcement US Government Agencies to include the FBI.
I, myself was caught up in work which kept me busy in response to the preparations. The only positive result for the population of the world that I see is if a disease deadly as Ebola is found world-wide we hopefully can more quickly ID and contain it BEFORE it flies into the Canary islands 5 months prior to its official announcement.
