What Did Gas Cost in the 1950s?

I can remember prices like that. What isn't mentioned is that gas wars were a frequent thing in those days and as I recall they brough prices down $.05 - $.10 cents a gallon. Wonder why we don't have gas wars today?

I paid 19 cents a gallon for premium long time ago. A gas station was the only thing my MOPAR COULD NOT PASS!
