Additional Gazprom note: A German energy company called Uniper sued Gazprom for breach of contract. The Russian company allegedly misused a legal move called force majuere to avoid delivering product. German government bailed out Uniper and Russia's Gazprom will eventually have to pay the bill.

Energy firm Uniper wins right to claim billions from Gazprom
Gazprom began slowing down its gas supplies to Europe, especially Germany, in June 2022. It finally halted them altogether at the end of August of that year.
