Lt Col, found the article on Alvin interesting.
Knew about most of it as I served on DSV 4, Sea Cliff, in the 80's. Deep diving craft are a breed of their own, only been down to a little over 6500 ft but have seen some strange things.

Deep diving has always been fascinating to me, unfortunately even shallow SCUBA diving wasn't exactly compatible with my military occupation........although I'll admit to occasionally bending the rules.
