Which dead horse is that?
Kansas created a law to require proof of citizenship. The courts injucted the law. Non-citizens SUCCESSFULLY registerred to vote. These are all bona fide, verifiable facts.
And the judge ruled that this was perfectly OK, and that Kansas had no authority to stop it.
I do not see a dead horse. I see a horse that is very alive - and kicking.
You asked for evidence, I provided evidence. And then you say I am beating a dead horse - for giving you the evidence YOU ASKED FOR.

SFC Casey O'Mally - From your link:
"Only 127 noncitizens are believed to have attempted to register to vote. Of those, only 39 succeeded and only 11 voted. Some of those were the result of poor training at DMVs."
The dead horse is the claim that our elections are not secure, when by a huge, overwhelming percentage, they are.
As to my asking for evidence, I should have been more specific. I was referring to your claim "This trans crap opens the door for double voting, once as a male, once as a female. "
???

So you, then, feel like voter fraud is perfectly OK, as long as there is just A LITTLE fraud?
By that same token, we have absolutely no problem with murder in this nation. I mean, there is such a small percentage of people who are actually murdered, why worry about it, right?
(No, I know for a fact, that you do not condone just a LITTLE BIT of murder - that was hyperbole for effect. Because I cannot understand why you apparently condone just a LITTLE BIT of fraud.)
As for the trans piece, I do not think there is evidence for this.... yet. But it *does* open the door. Folks having two IDs for two identities is problematic. However, as long as people do their jobs correctly - which is an important and not guaranteed caveat - this will not happen. When registering to vote under their new identity, their old one should be automatically purged. Should be.
But, I agree, there is no evidence of this happening, and there is no need to create new rules to prevent it - as the existing rules already *do* prevent it.
(But none of the above means that requiring proof of identity AND proof of citizenship when registering to vote is a bad thing).

SFC Casey O'Mally - I will add one more comment, then leave this thread alone.
I have many in-laws that live on the Navajo reservation here in Arizona. Four of them have only Tribal ID, which is not acceptable for voting. They are all elderly. 3 of them have been voting most of their lives but now cannot without getting some form of state issued ID.
I find it interesting that conservatives resist government requirements but are the big advocates for this.
A solution to a non-problem.
Have a great day.
