They have gotten to be rather sparse and barely edible.

My first time on an airplane was in 1964. After being sworn in at the Portland Armed Forces Entry Station they put us on a flight to San Francisco. One thing I noticed right off was, except for we recruits, every man on the plane was wearing a jacket and tie. The ladies were also well dressed.
They served us lunch and as I recall, it was not bad food. I had a glass of beer with my lunch also, not realizing it would be my last beer for 9 weeks,,, lol.

Can you imagine attempting to eat a meal on today's planes. My wife and I took our LAST airplane ride last year, and there wasn't room to lower the lap tray. Passengers would have to hold their neighbors food while it was being cut.
