These type of incidents need to be eradicated. There is no excuse. According to the story the SrA had a firearm; it’s his residence and he has that right. If a LEO is going to burst into someone’s residence, they damned sure need to have the correct address.

As a retired LEO I find this kind of police action deplorable and disgusting.

That is very disturbing and Myself as a retired Police Officer with over 40 years service can find no excuse whatever for that disgusting act and an innocent man is now dead ! Even that unannounced burst through the door is NOT justified even if it had been the correct address which it wasn't !

It's easy to stop most of these kind of shootings. Stop using No Knock Warrants.

SFC Casey O'Mally - Exactly and even at the wrong address and not even any attempt it seems to determine if the call was even legitimate. I've responded to many incidents in over 40 years of full time police work and NEVER even once failed to identify ourselves as the Police on ANY response ever. Our responses also did include people that were armed, in some case arrests were made others that action didn't need to be taken. We did take proper cover just in case and didn't arrive alone but didn't make it worse with an overaction either.
