Hopefully they, unlike so many of us, learn from history. The unions were strong and saw their numbers wain as they began to abuse their power. There was a business in my hometown that argued that union demands were too much and would ruin their business by making them noncompetitive. The union went on strike. The strike was ugly with tires slashed and individuals threatened. Finally they got their demands met and, sure enough, the company went out of business a couple years later. Responsible unions will assure their existence and the existence of business in the future

That's an hour down the road from me. From the beginning the Company has been trying to get a collective bargaining unit instituted in the plant. It's easier for them to deal with the workers when there is a Union. The company expects the Union to police itself and handle the grievance process.

I have a car that was built at that plant. There is absolutely no reason to unionize and put the cost of my next Atlas into the range of the Audi Q7. The workmanship is perfect and their wages are competitive with any other automaker.
With the communist slant of NPR, it's no wonder that they are on this bandwagon.
