Totally agree. Is it arrogant for me to say "you're welcome" even though I was never thanked by each member of the airwing on the carrier? As a nuke on a carrier, I made 30 knots of wind over deck to for flight operations better than anyone. I kept the potable water tanks full, so there was plenty for those late night "hollywood" showers. I never let low steam pressure cause a "cold-cat" an aircraft launch from a carrier. I always kept the list "just a little port" 'cause that's the way the Air Boss in Pri-Fly wanted it. I kept the movies running for the "air-wing" squadron duty officers in the ready rooms. I always made sure the soft-serve "auto-dog" ice cream machines stayed working in the wardroom mess. All really important war-fighting stuff, right?
