Man dies from Bubonic plague in New Mexico

Apparently it it can also remain in soil, seemingly indefinitely. Might be wise to be cautious about any property that used to be range land - depending on the century in which it was last used in that way. If I am not mistaken there is plenty or rangle land in Lincoln County.
Haven't heard of any reported cases of Hanta Virus or West Nile Fever either since that time.

Unfortunately, the US is still dealing with the flu thing. :-<
