PO2 (Join to see) - I would have to agree with you. When she lost all her carriers then it was time to put a fork in her.

PO2 (Join to see) - I was able to piece together my conclusion of the significant importance of aircraft carriers in WWII. I read aircraft carriers were used to attack the enemy fleet and defend their fleet. Therefore, I extrapolated that not having aircraft carriers meant the inability to attack the enemy fleet nor defending the fleet. When the Imperial Japanese Navy lost all her carriers, then the US Navy would own the seas. Eventually we would own the seas and the air. Next we would own the land.
