When the war began in 2022, there were some reports of a few Indians volunteering to join the Ukrainian army. But the presence of Indians on the Russian side in combat roles has been reported for the first time.

Well, India uses Russian weapons so it shouldn't be that surprising.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen I was always Amazed and Impressed on How the Indian Navy would Combine Russian and Western Weapons Systems! When You're Trying to do Electronic and Information Warfare the Indian Navy Made things Interesting! India has always Lead the "Non-Aligned" Nations, Playing Both sides against the Middle and It has worked for their Government!

Sad article. The duping involved requiring fees to join, poor training and the idea that the Indians would be in support positions instead of combat arms.
