I grew up in LA and am a few years younger than “the four little girls” but they felt like friends throughout my childhood. They were in the news five times each year: on each birthday news reports announced how old they would have been, and every school year announcing what grade they would each be in. It stopped when the last one would have graduated high school, and I missed hearing about them. Goodbye my friends that I never met.
