The downside is it’s going to be very hard to hold Ukraine, at least with the borders Zelenskyy wants. I fear we’re going to pull the plug and Europe can’t backfill Ukraine's arsenal like we can.
The upside is that any capability for Putin to make trouble in Poland, Finland, etc. is reduced and may now be impossible for him to pull off.
But the other downside is that Russia's defense options are increasingly reliant on nuclear weapons. And I have zero confidence in their controls on that.
