Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) infuriated his Republican colleagues by calling out their lack of accomplishment since taking control of the House majority, according to a report.
The Freedom Caucus member blasted colleagues in the Republican caucus for their inactivity on the border wall, and added that he could not think of "one material, meaningful, significant thing" they had accomplished during this congressional session.
Semafor reported that his rant did not sit well.
“The Dems can just play his speech for their TV ads,” said Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE). “Some of the [House Freedom Caucus] knowingly or unknowingly help the Dems.”
A member of House speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA)'s team called Roy “an arsonist complaining about the smoke," but the Texas Republican took that as a compliment.
"But to be clear, the arsonists of the swamp are the big spenders in both parties — including staff — burning down the American dream,” Roy posted on his X account.
