The Wall Street Journal on Monday trashed Donald Trump's proposal to create a new taxpayer-funded online university to "compete directly" for college students.
The former president announced what the newspaper called "Trump University 2.0" in a Truth Social video, but which would actually be called the "American Academy," but the Journal's editorial board questioned the need for such an institution and cast doubt on its funding.
"Why does Mr. Trump think a new federally backed online university could provide a better education than alternatives already available, including Hillsdale College or the University of Florida under its new President Ben Sasse?" the board wrote.
"If Mr. Trump’s answer is that his American Academy would be tuition-free, paid for by 'taxing, fining and suing excessively large private university endowments,' then it amounts to a proposal to outcompete conservative colleges using state power."

With the amount of brainwashing that is currently happening in elite universities, an online conservative option wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
Imagine... An online university that ONLY teaches what you need to know to succeed in life! A university that doesn't use its educators as activists!
I can see why WSJ would have a problem with it, as would most America hating liberals, but I'd take classes through there. I'd even pay for them. Get accreditation and sign me up.
Also, who the hell is WSJ to trash anything? They are a useless rag that is bleeding readers left and right. They have zero standing on what can be considered education.

LTC Eugene Chu - That was a while back. And it was settled. He's learned a lot of lessons from that. Basically Accreditation is key. If they can come up with a curriculum that can be accredited and get the financial aid stuff taken care of... and not put a corrupt idiot in charge... He might have something that would be beneficial.

The democrats just rewrite history on stuff they don't like. Civil Rights, Women voting, etc. Pretty much every time they've been on the wrong side of history, the come up with some new phraseology that makes them look good.
