Albuquerque's own 100 year old WWII Veteran, Sally-Alice Thompson, a personal friend, whose birthday was a week or so ago. She was honored with a celebration she attended at Albuquerque's Peace and Justice Center, recently. This article is from two years ago. I could not find any bio about her, other than this partisan one.
There is much more about her life not in the article.
Sally-Alice's husband Don served as a Senator in the New Mexico State Legislator for a time. Sally-Alice was nearly single handedly responsible for the Sister City initiative in Albuquerque and traveled to other nations on behalf of Albuquerque to assist with connections.
She also supported the Palestinian right to self-determination and an end to the occupation.
Her grown son and daughter are both deceased, her son was an A.F. Veteran. A few years ago she consented to living in an assisted living home and has continued to be active.
