Jim Jordan fails to secure enough votes in 3rd bid for House speaker

As of the morning of 20 OCT 2023, majority party of GOP still cannot elect a speaker for US House of Representatives. Congressman Jim Jordan actually lost votes during third ballot.

So I see folks are saying Republicans cannot do their job without Democrats holding their hands.

If Democrats would play well with others this could have already been over. Electing a Speaker is not solely a one party deal. Best way for the Dems to piss off the GOP is to vote for a speaker the others do not want.

LTC Eugene Chu - So because the GOP was immature the Dems cannot be the bigger, more mature party? Best way for the Dems to piss off the GOP is to vote for a speaker the others do not want. Unfortunately they are not smart enough to do that.

LTC Eugene Chu - Really a meme is explains it all, has no bearing on the current situation, and if you go back in the past congress people from both parties have crossed party lines. But you keep telling yourself anything that makes you feel good.
