I will once again post my standard reply:
Our system is terrible.
But it beats the hell out of whatever is 2nd place.
With 330+ million citizens, and our Constitution as it is, we need a system like we have. We need that tie (federal) to hold us together. without it, we would become nothing more than a copy of Europe, constantly fighting each other.

Other countries go into panic mode when their debt is 3% of their GDP, they PANIC! Not The US! Our Debt is over 100% of GDP at $33 Trillion and inflation is so bad the Federal Gubbamint can barely keep up with the interest payments, forget the actual debt! All from the federal gubbamint "helping."
If the feds didn't spend all their lawmaking time on the tax laws and spending bills every year in order to placate their donors, maybe then they could concentrate on governing. But they can't, they owe their masters who really are not "Of the People."
But, they need to get donors and buy votes to keep their $194k jobs that somehow make them all multimillionaires.
Look at AOC, a few short years ago she was slinging drinks for tips, now she is a multimillionaire! Did she get that way by helping her constituents? I submit that she did not.
The system is not broken, it's fixed!
