I see we have people who fail to understand what happens when a Hold is placed. Also given that the majority party does not have the 60 votes need to move past these blockages the processes allowed under the Senate Rules have to be undertaken and that takes time and also face obstacles.
There were going to be no votes on these nominations until public pressure hit a point forcing the minority party to play ball.

Actually the vote could not happen sooner. A hold is basically a filibuster which requires a cloture vote (60) to break the filibuster and move forward to consideration of the issue. And given a near evenly divided Senate pulling together the votes needed for cloture is basically impossible.
Then there is making use of SENATE RULES. A process which requires a serious investment in time to move something forward. This is why you want people in office who have been around long enough to know how to use the Rules of both the House and Senate.
