SGT (Join to see) Doubtful!
Will the parents and guardians who make firearms available to their underage children stop doing so?
Will the crooks stop giving firearms and drugs to children?
We have an extreme problem in Albuquerque which has been developing for a very long time - but violating the law/constitution as a way to handle it is not the answer.

Governors and even some mayors have long felt they had the authority to suspend the US Constitution -- usually they were found wrong by courts, but only long afterwards. Just like in the military, it becomes obey now, complain later (when it does no good).

MSG Thomas Currie And misuse of a Public Health Order, imo.
But gee! It worked for covid why not use it for everything else when you want to be dictatorial as a way to try to address an extreme mess in and extreme way?
Plenty of people who have long been violating the law will not even consider complying - even temporarily. As usual that would be the criminals who imagine they will not be caught and that laws they are already violating do not apply to them.

Hmmm, see doesn't seem to understand the concept of the U.S. Constitution. I bet the New Mexico Constitution has a right to self-defense.

The New Mexico constitution is fairly typical of 'modern' state constitutions on the right to keep and bear arms. It allows the government to regulate concealed carry but not open carry for any legitimate purpose:
Article II - Bill of Rights. § 6 Right to bear arms. No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons.
Article II - Bill of Rights. § 6 Right to bear arms. No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons.
