City of Belleville approves first woman fire chief in its 209-year history

While I get it I don't get the 209 year historical reference. Women couldn't vote until 1920 which is only 103 years ago. Just saying betting women had a hard time doing just about anything before 1920. However glad the city council had the "ovaries" to vote her in.
