Wow, this 1946 movie was ahead of its time.
Two veterans trying to adjust to civilian life after the end of World War II are insulted by a progressive leftist or extreme right winger. I am sure some of you have been told thank you for your service While others have probably been ridiculed for serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.
He puts them down for being suckers serving their country in Wartime. He claims that these two veterans were suckers and claiming that the Japanese and the Germans were our allies.
There is a real disabled veteran actor in this movie The Best Years Of Our Lives.
Director William Wyler also served in Wartime making movies in aircraft missions over Germany or on the ground in various theaters of combat. His wartime experience affected his movies as well.
