Over dependence on IT. The doctors were there. The ambulances and crews were there. The radios work and the patients were there. Diverting and shutting down was lazy ass BS.

Hospitals cannot simply work on radios after a cyber attack. IT systems control equipment, power and other essential functions. One episode from the police show, "The Rookie", explains how a cyber attack can cripple medical care.

LTC Eugene Chu - I guess before IT there were no doctors or ambulances or ER's or patients.
I'm an EMT. I have trained in disaster preparedness plans that include what to do when there is no power (including emergency generators) and the number of casualties no longer allows what would normally be "red/immediate" (START Triage system) casualties to be diverted without them dying in transit to more distant and unaffected facilities.
Were any of these hospitals in mass casualty situations or were they merely dealing with difficulties beyond normal? If they haven't planned for such events, they aren't well-prepared hospitals.
I don't look to Hollywood as accurate sources of how things work.
