I understand the use of the courthouse...BUT it has been used in many and I mean many movies up till now (the location was featured in a Runaway June music video for their 2019 song "We Were Rich," the 2022 Paramount holiday film "A Nashville Country Christmas" with Tanya Tucker, and Miley Cyrus' 2009 film "Hannah Montana: The Movie.) and all of the sudden it is racist because of something that happened there in 1927? If it is racist now then it was racist every time those movies were filmed and played. Just because the left doesn't like a song they are trying to censor it. Guess what I don't like songs about killing cops and raping women and killing white folks or using drugs or better yet the song "WAP" (if you don't understand look up the lyrics to WAP by Cardie B..warning very graphic content) and I didn't like the GarthBrooks song the thunder rolls about abuse and murder or the Dixie Chick song Earls gotta die, but they are artistic freedoms. Don't like the song then change the channel. But don't call it racist because you don't like the meaning of protecting each other in a small town..just remember, in a small town, if you don't want none, don't bring none because we protect our own...ALL OF OUR OWN. We may fight among each other but don't bring that big city crap and mess with one of ours...you will not leave happy!
“There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it — and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage — and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music, this one goes too far,” Aldean wrote.
