That accident was preventable, and the NAV and Captain were relieved. It just seems to take forever to rebuild and recertify a submarine after pretty much any incident. I'm glad that they will be returning her to the fleet.

Not funny. Submariners toll the boats each year for our lost shimates. One of thse tolled is our USS San Francisco shipmate killed when the boat hit a sea mount.

Lessons Learned on the USS San Francisco must have not been used appropriately. We killed a Shipmate on the SF. Sad that we are still letting lessons miss their mark.
