"The U.S. Military Academy at West Point continues to assess storm damage that devasted Orange County on Sunday. Initial reporting shows there is no structural damage to buildings, monuments, the parade field, and West Point Cemetery. Housing areas have been most affected with water intrusion and agencies are assisting residents with requests for service. There has been some water erosion on the sports fields located on the banks of the Hudson River. Cadet Summer Training is ongoing and has not been impacted. West Point Directorate of Emergency Services; Fire Department members have been working around the clock to ensure the West Point and our neighboring communities of Highland Falls and Fort Montgomery remain safe. If you do not need to travel to West Point, please avoid it for safety reasons. The academy appreciates your support."
