They went quickly. They never even knew that there was a problem. 30ms is faster than the brain can react, and that's how long it takes to implode the hull. Before the hull collapse fully happens, the air inside incinerates everything.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Me neither. I went to their website and looked it over and there was just no possibility of it being a capable submarine.
Having a pressure hull isn't enough. Having tanks/O2 penetrations of any kind is bad enough to keep me out when going that deep. I would rather have taken my chances with the tanks inside the hull and left nothing but ballast on the outside. It might have changed the outcome.
