Submariners to help in design. Submariners to help in creating a safe vehicle. Submariners to operate the vehicle. Submariners who actually learn the systems and know how to operate back up systems that don't rely on technology.
The undersea tourism industry just took a major hit, and it may be years in the recovery. My hope is that maybe the next CEO and board will use qualified submariners in the design and operation of their equipment, and not cut corners to appease their ego and DEI score.

A lot of businesses are doing similar things, getting rid of experienced people who cost too much and adding a new cheap kid to do the job, There are just some things that can’t be replaced. And for the new ones, to be taught, opportunity, willingness to learn and a supervisor nearby in case problems arise in an ideal world aren’t sticking around. How do we fix this? Capt Jeff S.
