"Partially successful" only if that means you only lost half the men and equipment in an unsuccessful assault.
I've pointed out that Russia has effectively mobilized it's population and industry to a war time footing and that they are inflicting 8-10 Ukrainian casualties for every Russian wounded or killed. Ukraine started out with 44 million, of which at least 12 million has left the country, and it's infrastructure is in ruins, plus your guess is as good as mine to how many casualties they have taken. My best guess is 350,000 dead or wounded, a bit more than 10% of the remaining population. Russia has 144 million people, those numbers are not in Ukraine's favor.
An attempt to bring NATO into the conflict would be the death of NATO. Too many members are not in favor of intervention and NONE of the Allies, including the US, are ready to fight a prolonged conventional war in Europe. Zelensky has attempted to provoke the Russians into retaliating against a NATO member because his chance of getting out alive are getting worse and worse. Frankly, I'm surprised that the Army didn't remove him after the disaster at Bakmut.
