Such a sad and deplorable action against our indigenous peoples.

If you are ever traveling on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Alabama there is an interesting place to stop. Wichahpi Commemorative Stone Wall
Florence, Alabama
The longest non-mortared wall in the country is one man's tribute to his displaced Yuchi ancestor's five-year journey to her homeland.
It is a short distance off the Trace. It is a place for quite reflection. When we stopped there we listened to Tom, the one who built this monument. He built it commemorate his ancestor who was displaced on the Trail of Tears migration to Oklahoma. Once there, she managed to make her way back home. He has the metal stamp with her assigned number in a safe deposit box. Apparently she was the only ‘documented’ one to make it back home.
