She will not Be able to use the “stand your ground “ defense; that’s already been tossed out the window!

Her lawyers will probably still try to claim self-defense (which is all the SYG really is) because that seems likely to be all they have. From the photos of the two women, it makes sense that the 58 y/o Lorincz could reasonably be afraid that the 35 y/o Owens was intending serious physical harm, but as long as the door itself was intact there is no way self-defense will be valid.
Someone beating on your door is not a valid imminent threat justifying the use of deadly force -- you have to wait until they break in before shooting them.
This is another of those tragedies that should not have happened. The days of neighbors reasonably settling disputes are long gone. For better or worse, every dispute now needs to you to call 911 to waste the police's time telling people to calm down. Lorincz should have called the cops about the kids, but instead she yelled at the kids and maybe threw the kids skate at them. Owens should have called the cops about Lorincz yelling at her kids but instead she went to confront Lorincz. Lorincz should have called the cops about Owens beating on her door, but instead she shot through the door and killed Owens. That's the world we live in today.
Seventy, or even fifty years ago the kids would have just stayed away from the 'grouchy old lady down the block'. If the kids didn't stay away from the grouchy old lady, they'd have run home when she yelled at them, but the kids probably wouldn't have told their mother about it because the mom would have just told they to stay away from the grouchy old lady down the block. If the kids did tell their mom, she might walk down the block, but it would have been to ask about the problem, not to yell and threaten. But that's not the world we live in today.
