Look how safe and easy law enforcement is. This happened about 7 minutes from my home to a VA State Trooper I have met, but don't know well. A very high percentage of veterans become law enforcement officers. I have heard that it is 25% +/- depending upon the location of the department in question. It was much higher when I was an officer as most Vietnam Veterans were still only thirty-somethings. In 1980 ~18% +/- of the total population were veterans. Today it is only 6.4%. It may not be fashionable in here and now to stop and realize that many police officer have died in the line of duty and many of those veterans.
