I'm starting to belive the pandemic was crafted as a reason/need to bale out blue states/cities. Horrible leadership by Denocracts have resulted in an unsustainable abyss. I don't think most people outside of Chicago understand the problem. City is already busy undocumented individuals to already marginalized communities with no means to fund the services they are providing. Pure unicorn fairy dust policy!

Not sure why the tag socialism was removed by RP admin but Johnson is backed by the Democratic Socialists of America and Bernie Sanders, a democratic socialist. Democratic socialism is just an anti-authoritarian flavor of socialism. The DSA is ultimately committed to instituting socialism.
The DSA regards the abolition of capitalism and the realization of socialism as a gradual long-term goal, therefore the organization focuses its immediate political energies on reforms within capitalism that empower working people while decreasing the power of corporations.
Its just the first stage of socialism.

Under conditions of an escalating social crisis, the longtime Democratic Party official, backed by the union apparatus and the Democratic Socialists of America, is being brought forward in an effort to contain and suppress the class struggle in the country’s third-largest city.
