Lifestyles is but one issue. Given the groups listed in the article what do they have in common environmentally.
Now cancer is uncontrolled growth. Genes code for cell growth and other genes control that growth. So what could interfere.

Interesting article. My first guess was bad diet and sedentary life style. Seems there is more too it than that.
