Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen i remember going to college no lockers, and the books for Nursing School were heavy, with the amount of violence I’m reading daily, I can see where this might be a step toward saving the children, remembering columbine,

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen I understand the safety concern that a backpack can contain weapons but it's ridiculous. We have enough lockers but they are small, maybe 1 x 3 feet and with the size of textbooks today that isn't good. Additionally, my school has seven minutes passing time between classes but it's also a very big school and has four buildings potentially having a class in three of the four isn't unheard of. They would only use all four buildings if they also had JROTC. The high school is set up like a college campus and not everyone could have a central location for their lockers. There isn't enough time to go to a locker between each class so they would have to carry multiple books during the day. The backpack is just easier to do the job!
