My daughter was/is not a victim. She is more adaptable, more confident and multi-lingual to boot. Sure, she's made sacrifices, but she's got more than she gave up.

I didn't see the word 'victim' anywhere in this story. I saw the word "honor."

COL John McClellan - Perhaps my perception is off, but I think a great deal of the "support the troops" and "support the military families" is:

1) using us as political props
2) noblesse oblige

True support is not a photo op.

Ok and? Did you have an issue when anyone else has done something for military families? It's still weird to say your daughter was/is not a victim on THIS story. JFC. People always cry there aren't enough feel good stories so one gets posted and it's still criticized. This is the weirdest comment I've ever seen on a story that's a non-issue.
