Steve Allen, the American. Dave Allen, the Brit. But yes, I well remember Steve Allen. Read his autobiography too. Fascinating. My favorite moments from the Tonight Show with Steve Allen were his. His manical laugh was infectious. Like the time he had the crew play volleyball in the alley behind the NY studio vs exotic dancers. Watching them jump up and down in pursuit of the ball really set him and me off
