Missouri clinics rush to book transgender patients before attorney general's restrictions

Clinics in Missouri that provide medical gender-affirming care to transgender and nonbinary people are rushing to book patients before an emergency rule limiting such care starts next week. Under the rule, some restrictions don’t apply to providers treating people who already have begun receiving hormones, undergone surgeries or begun other medical procedures.
Clinics in the St. Louis region that provide hormones, surgery referrals and other medical services to transgender people have opened their appointment books to help as many new patients as they can before new state limitations on gender-affirming care take effect later this month.
