How do you mean?

Type of weapon? It was a .32 revolver... What gun control initiatives (other than banning virtually all guns) would apply here with regards to the type of weapon?

Stand your ground defense? I highly doubt he will be successful in that, so I doubt we will have to revisit the law.

Mentally unhinged? Sure does sound like he was. Were there any indicators prior to the shooting?
Regardless, Let's make sure he can no longer own a weapon again. But first, let's put his ass in jail for a very long time (which effectively may be a life sentence for him).

Racist? Yeah, that looks like it could be the case as well, or he just doesn't like anyone knocking on his door (neither are an excuse). Who knows for sure? I don't see how the gun control discussion applies here though if the stand your ground defense does not apply.

If he manages to avoid a conviction and jail time based on stand your gun law ambiguity or similar, I'll definitely have a problem with that (assuming there isn't any overwhelming evidence the kid attacked him or something, which there isn't).

Put simply, we have an old, possibly racist man, who committed a horrible act to a completely innocent kid, and he needs to be put away for a very long time. This is not a gun control issue unless more facts come out highlighting whether he illegally acquired it, and or the laws somehow enable the man to avoid prosecution. Short of banning all guns, which still may not avoid these problems, what other gun control measure needs to be discussed?

From everything I have read regarding this the homeowner is at fault and needed to be charged!

I will be surprised if he spends a day in jail and that is not a comment on innocence v guilty but his defense in Mo will find a way to link this with age and castle laws.
