Good on them. Happy o read about it. But....
Why was it a near-miss in the first place? The Navy went through a series of embarrassing collisions at sea and they identified a serious lack of training which they were supposedly fixing. How does this keep happening? It was a relatively clear day, according to the pictures ... you can SEE the other ship. PLUS you have millions of dollars of high tech equipment to tell you the boats position and heading even if you CAN'T see it.
Again, great job by the JOs here. But they dhouldn't have been in that position in the first place.
Unless I am missing something? Any Sailors wanna correct me?
