I think attempted murder is a stretch. I can see the charge, because he had disarmed the attacker, and it could be argued the attacker was no longer a threat. I disagree, because the garage worker was gut shot, and knew it. That is, generally speaking, a relatively debilitating wound. There is no indication the assailant was shot in the back while fleeing, which to me says he was still a threat.
So, I don't agree, but I can see a way someone can work their way there.
But weapons charges? Seriously?
Note to all New Yorkers: you are no longer allowed to disarm your assailant.
I mean how asinine can we get? There is a certain convoluted logic to the attempted murder charge. There is NO logic to the weapons charge.

Bragg is an A$$hole, this man was defending himself after already being shot by the Perpetrator. How is this not Self Defense?

The "Progressives" want us all to depend upon government for our personal safety, to the point of considering indisputable self-defense as "vigilantism".
They insist upon that madness in spite of the fact that courts at all levels have consistently ruled that police do not have any obligation whatever of assuring the safety of the ordinary citizen.
